K SHOP with Connect Hub: Payment Notifications for Merchants
Explore K SHOP by Kasikornbank from a merchant payment-notification perspective, including payment acceptance, audible payment alerts, how Connect Hub works with K SHOP through its In-App approach, and practical observations from Connect Hub testing.
How Does K SHOP Help Merchants Receive and Monitor Payments?
A merchant-management application
Kasikornbank presents K SHOP for both physical and online merchants, with multiple payment options including Thai QR, credit-card QR, Payment Link, and mPOS.
Incoming-payment alerts for physical stores
Kasikornbank states that K SHOP provides real-time incoming-payment notifications and can announce incoming payment amounts through the application.
More than QR payment acceptance
K SHOP also provides other merchant capabilities subject to the bank's services and conditions, including sales reporting, multiple payment channels, and tools for online selling.
K SHOP with the Connect Hub In-App System
K SHOP is one of the merchant applications supported by Connect Hub's In-App system and one that we have tested extensively with our system. When merchants use K SHOP with Connect Hub Merchant Manager, the purpose is to make supported payment-notification information useful for payment awareness and shop operations. This does not alter the financial transaction path: customer payments continue to be handled by the bank and credited to the merchant according to the bank's process.
Observations from Connect Hub K SHOP Testing
Sub-account usage
In Connect Hub testing, we have observed support for up to 10 sub-accounts. This is an operational observation from our testing and is not presented as information published on the Kasikornbank public page referenced for this article.
Payment to the main-account QR
In Connect Hub testing, when a payment is received through the main-account QR, we observed message and audible notifications on the main account and the associated sub-accounts.
Payment to a sub-account QR
In Connect Hub testing, when a payment is received through a sub-account QR, we observed message and audible notifications on the main account and the sub-account associated with that QR.
A Practical K SHOP Workflow We Have Found Useful
From Connect Hub testing, we have found that K SHOP works well in the background when used with our system. If the application is brought back to the foreground after operating in the background for some time, it commonly asks the user to enter a PIN again. For merchants using Connect Hub, a workflow we have found convenient is to sign in to K SHOP successfully, leave it operating in the background, and use Connect Hub Merchant Manager to review information relevant to Connect Hub operations during the day. This reduces the need to repeatedly open K SHOP and spend time signing in again.
