Tung-Ngern with Connect Hub: Payment Notifications for Merchants
Explore Krungthai’s Tung-Ngern merchant app from a practical shop-operation perspective, including QR payment acceptance, incoming-payment notifications, how it works with Connect Hub In-App, and observations from Connect Hub testing.
What Does Tung-Ngern Provide for Merchants?
Receive Payments with PromptPay QR
Krungthai's official merchant information states that Tung-Ngern merchants can receive payments through PromptPay QR and can obtain a countertop QR sign from a Krungthai branch or download a QR within the application.
For Individual and Corporate Merchants
Krungthai states that both individuals and legal entities can register as Tung-Ngern merchants through its website, with a Krungthai savings or current account required.
A Digital Payment Tool for Merchants
Krungthai presents Tung-Ngern as a merchant application for receiving payments through digital channels and supporting day-to-day merchant sales operations.
Tung-Ngern with the Connect Hub In-App System
Tung-Ngern is one of the merchant applications supported by Connect Hub's In-App system and one that we have tested extensively with our system. When used with Connect Hub Merchant Manager, notification information from the supported app can be used to assist payment awareness and shop operations. Connect Hub does not alter the financial transaction path or receive customer funds on behalf of the bank.
Observations from Connect Hub Tung-Ngern Testing
Sub-Account Support Observed in Testing
In Connect Hub testing, we have observed support for up to 10 sub-accounts. This is an operational observation from our testing and is not presented as information published on the bank's public page referenced for this article.
Payment to the Main-Account QR
In Connect Hub testing, when a payment is received through the main-account QR, we observed message and audible notifications on the main account and all sub-accounts.
Convenient Return to the Foreground
In our testing, even after Tung-Ngern has operated in the background for several hours, bringing the application back to the foreground generally allows the merchant to continue without having to sign in again. This makes it convenient for shops that occasionally return to the app during the day.
Audible Alerts While in the Background
From Connect Hub testing, Tung-Ngern is one of three bank applications we have observed providing audible alerts while operating in the background.
A Practical Day-to-Day Workflow for Merchants
For shops using Tung-Ngern with Connect Hub, the application can be left operating in the background during the day. From our testing, merchants can generally bring Tung-Ngern back to the foreground to review transactions without being forced to sign in again after several hours in the background. Alternatively, merchants can use Connect Hub Merchant Manager to review information relevant to Connect Hub operations whenever convenient.
